Meaning and visual impact:

No meaning - just visual impact. A very large work that dominates a wall space. An exploration of spaces each with evolving colours and textures. The colour palette is close to tones found in nature.

Technical aspects:

This work made ample use of my proprietary modelling gels which created the textural fields. These fields were treated to absorb oil paint in a random and somewhat uncontrollable way. What this meant was that I could not tell exactly what the final results would be until the surface dried after a few weeks. So a lot of trial and error and it took an enormous amount of time to complete as a result.
